Let me recall on this trip around 2 months ago.

Was damn excited on this trip because all my friends who went last year said it was hella fun & I missed out the fun. & So I decided to give it a shot rather than lying on my bed & playing the computer like a freak.

Pulau ubin, Obs course ;)



Of course, it's a survival camp i supposed so we have to adapt to the poor living conditions ! & Alot of people asked me how the hell did i squeeze all my items that are needed for the camp in a typical sling bag along with a shoe bag only ! Haha, work smart people. ;) & the water that we use to shower, is freaking cold man. But got used to it quite fast. :) Why isn't there heater man.

Day 1:

Instructor, John.
Columbus' my watch but i wanted Nila Utama because it sounded nice ok. Didn't know much people in my watch except Tristan, Steph & Afiq. Not sure if i spelt his name correctly.

Checking of store, equipments, etc.
Did some teamwork game & we're off for the kayak-ing session. Learnt how to kayak in a multi-purpose hall & stuffs. And, we're off for the sea to try out. Pair up with Tristan but John said no. He said boy girl boy girl, so ok ok. Ended up with Steph.
Had to learn how to capsize & recovery work. First day, always gonna be a boring day as we're not used to the area yet but it was pretty all right for me.

John's being evil, we're just beginners when it comes to kayak-ing. But he demanded, we have to touch his kayak before we can end our day which includes shower & dinner ! But we still caught him because he was distracted by another instructor. Unpure eh john. Ended the kayak-ing session & all of us are soaking wet. Brought back the equipments.

We were starving like hungry ghosts & it's during ghost festival. Learnt how to pitch tents & stuffs. John made us some rice for dinner, it's taste is so off. Our dinner's so pathetic but we got ourselves some apples. I bet it's the best food there. Went exploring with Tristan & company. Up & up to sebas' camping site.

Ended day 1 before 12, but not for us. ;) Went to meet up with friends in different camp sites & we've to avoid getting caught by the instructors ! Stayed up all the way until 2am plus 3am then went back tent to sleep while they continued their programmes. Shared tent with Tristan, Afiq, Zen.



Day 2:

Went for alittle hiking to another campsite while carrying stuffs that we need. The route there was kinda of short & the ground is damn slippery. & the girls in our watch are slow. Took a rest inbetween & continued all the way there. Our campsite will be beside a super tall tower. ;) Along with cook watch. Took our OBS photo there & we left our things at the campsite.

We continued our journey to a SPLENDID building & was hoping to stay there because the conditions living in a tent is fucking hot. Did some activities & Tristan kept falling asleep due to him being lack of sleep last night. OK I ADMIT THAT I DIDN'T SLEPT MUCH AS WELL & I'VE SLEEPY EYES.

Did i mention that the food from the canteen that is allocated in the splendid building is damn tasty ? Or maybe because we're too hungry. =/ Did rock climbing in the multi purpose hall & the guys fell asleep because it was raining & while waiting for others to have their try on the rocks.

Teachers came to see us but i think almost all the guys are lying flat on the floor sleeping ? I was teamed with Kai Cheng if i not wrong & we said to each other, ok ah we slowly slowly go up, slack la, tired sia. In the end, both of us rushed up so quickly & almost the same speed. Oh, did i mention that we have to tie a lock to each other or something ? So that we have to advance together. We've no problems doing that. :D & we did very quickly.

After that was sufferings again, but with delicious meals. ;) Sebas came to our tent again that night & he slept there i think ? & our tent tend to have different people coming in to sleep ! HAHA. Ended day 2 with a better teamwork. & the instructors kept checking on us, damn !

Oh & did i mention again that we went to the super awesome toilet in that SPLENDID building ? it was a pool's toilet & IT'S EMPTY MAN. We brought our bags to the toilet to reorganise the items inside & took our time showering haha ! & 2 people had to share a bag. I shared with Samson. ;)


Day 3:

Wrapped up & went for the REAL hiking which is damn tedious i tell you. Planned & plot the map. Jonas was the navigator & he did a awesome job. Left at around 10am plus & had to find certain plants, etc. in order to cancel out some areas that we must go.

The hiking was damn tedious but it was hella fun man. We managed to reach the area we are supposed to reach in time & we still have time to take pictures on the mountains. Erm, i supposed lol ! Weide motivated us & most of the time, we're taking the lead & the girls are whining because we're moving too fast haha ! The scenery was awesome i tell you & it could cure your strain on your shoulders because we've to carry the super uber heavy camping bag during the hike. I carried the food pack. And which idiot put so much canned food inside & we didn't consume much man.

Insects, rain, strains, wobbly legs came one by one. Halfway of the hike, it rained & it's so romantic man haha ! If only she's there man. It's gonna be perfect haha ! & continued with the bloody hike which causes alot of whinings. But our watch became closer after the hike. We spent like 6 hours for hiking ! Oh, i'm getting so fit now. ;)

Reached there first but we were the last second to leave. & the place we have to reach is damn irritating man. We kept going round & round & round before we reach the seaside. & pitch our tents first so that we can get the good spots. We had dinner under the silvery moon & gusty winds but it was hella romantic as well haha ! & we had our dinner near a tree & facing the sea with tents behind us ok ? Damn beautiful i tell you haha ! But i didn't brought my phone if not i gonna snap lots of photos. ;)

Before we end our day, John gathered us & we went to the top of the erm, hill ? To have a little chat & jokes & to appreciate the scenery. I think it was the best spot & the best view ever because you could see the islands, i supposed it's singapore LOL. Planes, super duber huge ships moving & the plantations around you. IT'S THE MOST ROMANTIC PLACE IN PULAU UBIN. Ha, if only, you know what.

Expressed our feelings & what we disliked to each other. They said i became more of a chatty type instead of those emo, anti-social kind. Haha ! John told us a creepy joke about Pulau Ubin.

There was a instructor who was craving for mee rebus
He helped other instructors to purchase the mee rebus back.
He told the old auntie, " auntie, 4 packet of mee rebus, thank you. "
He was wondering where did the usual young lady that always sell the mee rebus.
He took out $8 to pay for the food & he noticed that the old lady is very weird & disturbing.
When the old auntie finished wiping up the food, she stared at the instructor.
& Shouted in his face $10 when she saw the $8 in his hand.

Ok, but John shouted in our faces in that case. Some people got scared but i was prepared because i know it's gonna be this kind of joke haha ! Anyway, ended our day & i went to help Weide wash the utensils. We had to wash using the sea water, because the toilet is freaking far. & it's so dark there. Sat outside the tent & chat with steph & company. Didn't know John was sneaking up on us & we got caught. He nagged at us & we went back to sleep. Woke up later for night guard because of the wild dogs you see. Haha ! & we're not allowed to shower for the day man, which sucks, but people who kayak-ed here are worst. End of day 3.


Day 4:

We're bravos !
Early in the morning, wrapped up & prepare to kayak back to the previous camp site. Lots of procedures to do & went out to the sea ! We're the star port side which means we've to be on the extreme right & forming the diamond shape as everybody have to be in the middle while we're the danger line. Sort of. Kind of fun because we have to avoid the sea houses, shallow areas & SHIPS. GOD DAMN IT, THEY CREATED SUCH A BIG WAVE THAT ALMOST CAPSIZED US. But, we're good. ;)

Halfway of the kayak-ing, i found out that Steph was slacking ! I was doing almost all the work man, STEPH ! But, ok la, since you peel orange for me to eat while i'm moving the damn banana boat, i forgive you. ;) Damn, it was more tedious than hiking man. & for some reason, my left arm was somehow unable to work properly maybe because i strained too much ? But i've to just continue.

Steph was kind enough to help kayak near to the end because it's like netherland. We could see where the jetty is, but we can never get there. Some areas are infested with RED JELLYFISHES. Which i thought was pretty cool, when we saw people capsize, we'll escape because we don't want to help out HAHA ! Damn tiring i tell you. There was once that we almost hit the sea houses haha ! You know, those sticks that are protruding from the sea floor. & some areas of the sea, is filled with oil man ! Damn disgusting.

& I hit the instructor's boat ! As in knocked against it haha ! He freaking stopped infront of me man. & i've no choice but to, kaboom. almost capsized. I mean my little banana boat, not their huge paper boat. & a guy is damn irritating.

Before our lunch, he said we're 1 or 2 km to our destination. During lunch, he said the same thing. After lunch, he said the freaking same thing. & which is like, 30 minutes interval. He kept saying the same bloody line & i bet alot of people wants to have a piece of him but we can't. We're on the sea. I wished i drowned him man hahaha ! We had our lunch in the sea ! Sitting on the tiny whiny banana boat haha !

From 7am all the way to around 2pm. Which is like 7 hours of kayak-ing ! I can't believe we made it man haha ! ON TIME SOMEMORE. Washed up the equipments & the moment you stepped on the solid ground, your legs go whoosh. Weak. But it's just a moment haha !

Washed up, packed up & pitch tents & prepare for JETTY JUMP. WOOHOO, that's the most fun part of the camp. The feeling's just incredible haha. Just like jumping from 2 & half storey high but landing under the soft BUT PAINFUL sea. Damn fun but we're only allowed to jump once. & we can't do stunts ! Oh man.

Actually we had nightwalk in the forest, which is only for us. IT'S EXTRA ACTIVITY but we don't have enough time. So, cancelled man. Had dinner at the beach & it's damn cool ok. Because it was raining with the flashes of thunder just a distance from you. & that's splendid i must say. Slept at the beach as well. Last night, so might as well have a good rest. & during our dinner. The view of the beach is much better than Singapore ? & so romantic again. Ok, end of day 4.


Day 5:

LAST DAY. Packed up & do the stock counting & stuffs. Lost 2 jet knives & each person had to pay $1. Haha ! Like cheap. & locked the Columbus door. I'm the day IC on that day for your info. It was raining heavily & we went to a building to take back our personal belongings such as money, keys, etc. Was damn sad man, because we can't help it but we wanna stay there longer haha ! Exactly like what my friends said. First day, you will feel like going home. Last day, you will feel like staying there. All right man !

Farewell in the multi purpose hall & went shopping for obs items. Bought 3 shirts. One for bro, one for sis & one for me. Did i mention that our watch, had 3 people who went home ? Received our certs & a obs band. Mine's blue. ;) Bid farewell & gave a hug to the dearest John. Board the last few boats back. Having mixed feelings. Buddy watch should be Cook.

Reached Punggol jetty & took cab home with sebas. ;)
